MONDAY BLUES>>>Ok, this is the real Monday. And the sky is really blue. Not really blue kind of blue, but still a really blue colour. Yesterday night, L fell asleep while trying to do the fr****** word setting. Why did he have to do word setting of all thing??? Oh well, but L was reasonable, as always. It had to be done some time or another, it was something totally new to L, MM never did tell her two pence worth about it. However new it was, wonderful L managed to complete one of the two. Somehow, she couldn't figure out the rhythm for the other one. Nothing sounded right. Well, nothing will sound right when you are alone in your bed at 12 in the morning with no inspiration at all. She did manage to complete the other one in school today. Yup, in school , where she was surrounded with people to give her inspiration. Back to yesterday, she fell asleep while trying to learn her Chinese. The good news is that she managed to learn one word, and she finished learning the rest this morning during recess. And when a certain sheep asked her if she studied, she was able to smile a mysterious smile at her and reply "What do you think?" Ha, I wonder what the sheep thought. Also, the class settled on the class outing for Friday. Movie and lunch at Marina Sq. Time to be confirmed. L really wonders what the turn out will be. Also, she has arranged to meet Br. for ice-skating. She'll have to fly. Oh well, she'll manage, she did manage to get to YMS in one piece that Friday night.
Assembly was debate, with the motion: Genectically modified food should be more widely consumed. After hearing both sides arguements, L tended to side with the opposition, the environment, afterall, is the most important. However, her preferred team was the preposition, and if left to her, the best speaker would be Janice. MCY really s**** to the core. Want to know why? Because she thinks too highly of herself and thats the truth. And whats the point of being aggresive? There are other ways to get the point across. Boo to the best speaker. And that was from L. C was chairman. And as usual, lame, and this time literally, slouching over the table like some slacker. (as usual no offence)
Then she found the 4 guys to go carry things for T(m). At first she had only asked KY and KH, but being guys, the needed more company than each other, so the whole troop of music boys went along. The walk to the m.rm. was as eventful as walks with KY could go. They were treated to a conversation between him and his mother with him telling him how his teacher used child labour and his arms were tired from carrying such heavy thing. (in fact, they were 3 books). Also, L found out that T(m) may be reading this. Since he asked about Y and Z. And talking about them, Z quit music and Y is as irritating and freakingly pesky as ever. Oh to give her credit, the piano playing has stopped, but whines and complains stayed. Yup, today, while we were trying to set the freakingly difficult words T(m) gave to a tune, there in the background, the most whiney voice you've ever heard, "how come they get to work at the piano and we don't". And L answered to her group of H, W, KY and YZ, "because you didn't go over to the piano you freak." Thinking back, she should have said, "because you didn't life your great big butt off and walk to the piano and plonk your freaky self down." But then, she wouldn't be so bitchy. Would she?...
Talking about the melody, they were given this stanza of 9 lines and asked to work in their groups of 5 and come up with a melody to fit the words in 2o minutes! 20 minutes! Atrocious! But T(m) came to his senses, and they were given an hour odd in the end. You'd be thinking that they'd achieve alot in an hour, ha, fat hope. They spent a good 20 minutes trying to figure out the rhythm, speed and major/minornother 20 minutes deciding on chord progression. With that said, I'll tell you that they achieved 10% of what they set out to do after that 40 minutes. Then, 10 minutes was spent on the first 2 lines. It was rather Japanese sounding. YZ wrote most of it actually, L beside him only had to nod and "mmm" at whatever he was saying, because she had no idea why this note had to go to that or why there were only two choices after this particular chord. The only thing she understood was that the leading note had to go back to the tonic. Ha, that MM drilled into her. In the end, they had a Japanese starting and a perculiar middle and end. Oh well, thats for the last 2 minutes of scribbling effort. Not bad actually, L thought when T(m) played it out. And guess what? Sung it out! Of course, it was recorded, and will probably serve as someone's ring tone! He complained about being made to sing out our atrocious melody, "Why am I doing this? When I go back and tell my wife...." blah blah blah. You're doing this because you don't wanna disappoint your darling students ;) (and because you actually like the sound of your own voice) Ha, you had a choice...
Then there was platform, 2 people playing the same pieces. Not so bad. If you count their good and bad points, they actually measure up quite evenly.
Oh, and they had these tables. L liked and dislike them. For one, she could write properly and not strain her back or have illegible handwriting at last, but on the other hand, oh well, forget the other hand, the tables were altogether a good move.
Back home, she has piles of work to complete. Including an aufsatz, thanks to a reminder from H's wonderful blog.
you know you love me
