So, the wonderful Friday chronicles.
Both L and dad woke up late. Ha, but of course L still made it on time to school. No FRC "due to threatening skies". Duh. So half the class was having a nice time talking and chatting (np prizes for guessing where the other half are) until freaking MS came in and and dumped them some dumb artlcles to read. Thank goodness YMM saved the day.
She came in, ordered them in groups and set them to role-playing. There would be a competition between CR, IT, GR, MD. With their best team of the 2 noisiest and 2 other good actors, L's class naturally bagged the most creative skit award.
After school, L went out with B.
Then, back home, she primped for the nights performance. Then out of the door with the grans in tow. She brought them to Marina Sq. only to find out that the foodcourts were closed. Then, they had to troop to suntec. They reached Esplanade punctually. (infer from "on time is not punctual)(in case you are that dumb, they were early) After meeting up with the really aunty aunties, they made their way in. Of course, L greeted many people on the way. Inside, both in front and behind her were people she knew. How nice. It was pretty fun talking to people, discussing about the people you know you'd be seeing. One thing about the system L thinks should be changed is the placing of the orchestra. They should be seen! Instead of a pit right below, it'd be cool if they had a loft right above. Yea, when L builds her own theatre, she'd have the orchestra 'pit' built as a loft right above. After listening to all the crap about how crappy the performance was, L totally expected to be bored. But it was waaaaay FANTASTIC! The humour was good warm humour. As said, the last scene wa the best. They should have gotten the lions to dance as well though. L really reallly really really regrets not giving herself a chance to be part of it. But at least she was part of the tight audience that belted out the school song! (in case you are wondering what tight means, i can't find any other word) Excuse the sentimentality, but you could practically feel the love students and alumni had for the school while the school song was sung. The oooh and aahhh came when the curtain was lifted to reveal the ___ strong choir singing instead of the recording most people would have thought. In the second story, the dance was very cool. Many danced coolly too. L only saw a handful who really danced with passion. But if you weren't looking out for those things, it was a beautiful dance. So much for doing things with passion. But I suppose when you have thousands of eyes on you, you tend to do things technically. God forbid this happens to L during her piano exam.
While credits were given, all the T's went up. T(m), T(f),and Tls. Seems like the school favours Ts. There are only Ts in the head of the commitee. Haha, L thought T(m) looked rather dumb up there. He was like a zombie. Ah, but I guess you must cut him some slack. And all the rest too. (do you see why T(f) and Tls can go up there and smile but not T(m)? actually L doesn't, tell her if you do)
Did I mention that the Minister of Environment was there too? yepyepyep, thats how large Yue makes it to be. But hey, guess what? L felt good, this is her school's performance the minister is watching. Wouldn't you too?
The aunties commented that it was very well done too! At the end, L rushed out to get her copy of the programme (if you haven't gotten yours, go get it)
and of course greeting many people on the way too.
And I repeat once again, what a fabulous performance.
Happy Birthday CCHMS
you know you love me
