The long awaited update
ya, well, here it is.E last week of July had been a horrible one for L. All because of those freaking migraines that have been bothering her since like forever (actually since a few months ago). She had been getting them for like 2 hours every day after recess. What is this, something has to hinder whatever she does. Anyway, that was that. This past week has been fine and spent quite happily. Headaches gone for some reason. Maybe its the anticipation of a lessonless Friday.
So, this week has been filled with the usual activities and rehearsals. Much of them unproductive. L could have done a much better job if only...oh well...But then, they managed to run through some stuff. I won't brood over the week. Instead I'll tell you about interesting today.
So, Today, 6th July, Friday, the schoolday before National Day, the day of national day celebration. And as usual, the school celebrates it by asking pupils to come in the national colours and with the national day song competition. L's all wore similar hang-ten T-shirt and showed off their style and spirit with a funky tie. To tell you the truth, L had been opposed to the tie @ first. But as chair, she had to change sides once the majority seconded the vote. So, it wasn't too bad. L and A were emcees for the song competition. They got the news like 2 days before, and the programme 1 day before. That 1 day before was the day they went to Sg poly for rehearsal, so they only managed to do the script @ night. To put it more specifically, L managed to do the script @ night. But of course she did. And to give someone some credit, with contributions from A. And they did a pretty good job, considering the 1 hour they spent on it. Today, they did a pretty good run through; only to be told that there was a little reshufeling of the order and there was some change in the song titles. So, changes had to be made to the beautiful script they did the previous night. They had an argueably hectic and easy time being emcees. The stage was unearthly hot, the changes were humanely numerous and the teachers were unusually shy of singing. Aww, that makes it sound sucky, actually it was quite pleasant. Only, the first comment L had to get was 'You sounded so hollow'. For goodness sake, tell that to the people managing the system. And its not like they had a chance to properly run through the whole thing. Anyway, all was actually well, changes were taken into stride, a bad job was well done, and the people involved are in any case satisfied.
After the celebration, L had to go for Chem. prac. Well well well, its always best to let teachers who are known to have moods pontificate. So L did just that. And as usual, finished her titration in doulble quick time. Somehow, she just can't fathom why some people take ages to finish the experiment.
With the work done, L happily went back to GMPS with C. On the way into school they met MC and ML going out for lunch. Hey, MC remembers her name! After teaching L 7 years ago! But of course, L is so memorable. They then went on to talk to ML, MN, MT, MH. Convenienly, the rest of the teachers had left, they had arrived an hour too late. Right, thank VT. Being the nice guy ML gave them a tour of the staffrm. and the sad thing is, no one that they could talk to could be found. Awww. Oh well...that was about it.
L went out with E to raffles city for BK and to wait for YW and SY. Wonderful, instead of going to the BK @ RAFFLES city, they went to the BK @ RAFFLES place. That shows how much people listen!
L then had to go for a as usual enjoyable piano lesson. After that, meeting the peeps in citylink. There, they had a nice walk walking aimlessly and ending up @ suntec. And there, L met H, WK and O, who went to watch movie without asking her!!! Now, ....Oh well, she been booked anyway. 5 steps after stepping away from those people, she walked into MN. What a small world this is. MN was alone, hmmm, guess MW dumped her for her bf. Said hi, smiled, walked off.
The troop then proceeded aimlessly again. They continued walking aimlessly, talking and enjoying each other's long lost company until deciding to go back to the MRT station. There, L was made a fool of. She was supposd to be spun and placed in front of the map where she was to poke her finger. Everything went according to plan. She was spun, and the only thing was, she poked her finger into a man's face! HURMPH!!!!! NVM, they did as she wished. They went to the airport. You'll all be rolling your eyes. But hey! The airport is actually nice place to go to. Its cool, peaceful, and has a fantastic atmosphere. There, they had a nice walk and had 5 scoops of swensens ice-cream for $1.60. Want such treats...ask L out someday.
They hung around and reached home @ 7. Wonderful day!!!
Happy ...
