My my my, it has been a long weekend. Or rather a long Sunday, Monday and Tuesday. Sunday was spent as usual @ granny's. Had a smashing time watching 'Ms Congeniality' and 'Pratical Magic' both in a row. Both good watchable movies.
The next day, Monday, National Day, Holiday! Spent the morning eating cornflakes in front of the TV flipping channels. Theres nothing good on the TV @ any time nowadays. Thats too bad. So, walked around the house, played some piano. That 'What a Friend we have in Jesus' MM gave is really a challenge. But then, theres nothing I can't get under/over/around.
Went for lunch with family @ 'tall ppls place', at least thats what I call it. Its this Chinese restaurant @ east coast set up by these really tall people. Its the family whose daughter got into the papers 'cause she was 14 and modelling. (rmb the Elite Model search) Food was good, some anyway. Others wasn't to my liking.
Spent the afternoon playing the piano and flipping channels. I do believe i found some movie good enough to sit through. After that, was just nice to watch the repeat of PM's ND speech (which I missed the day before) and continue with NDP. Given it was all the same except for the show section, but as a patriotic Singaporean, I enjoyed it all. Of course adding the fact that it would be the last of PM Goh's as PM. It was seriously great, only regret was not being able to party over @ the stadium. But partying @ home wasn't so bad either.
We'll miss PM Goh as PM. Had almost zero contact with him, but the impression I have a him is a great, compassionate leader who knows how to get in touch with his citizens and who has brought Sg far from LKY days. It seems that there are limits that each PM will stop @ and the PM must be changed before a country can be brought further. The change of generation...
And of course, the best was kept for the last. Singapor Idol!!! Afte NDP...Wow, was it good or what? Of course, it was an exact replica of of American Idol only renamed and relocated, and that was rather downing, but other than that, it was altogether very entertaining. There was the really good guy, whom we'll all see more of. And there were the slops of the event who we'll all regret to have missed but will not be sorry to see the backs of them. And of course, not forgetting the guy who was too good for the pop world. I personally felt sincerely sorry for him. I would have loved to hear more of that Shanghai Rocky guy.
And of course, theres today! Tuesday, day after ND, school holiday!!! Woke up @ 9am. Cornflakes in front of Pebbles and Bambam. After that, some piano and then I managed to sit through a movie on HBO. After that came the part where I actualy did something. I went to the library, got myself some good books, went to Macs, had lunch, and went home to finish those books. Check out my books page for those.
Happy National Day!!!
You know you love me
