Whoa, yesterday was finals day! And what a day! I was as good as dead @ the end of the day.In the morning, woke up @ 6.30, got ready, walked to Aljunied leaving two logs in bed. There, I got commented on looking like I just escaped from a pub. Hurmphhh...
Took MRT to Paya Lebar. This entry isn't going be have very nice sentences, I just want to get everything down while I still have the mood.@ Paya lebar, met fishball. Teasing started immediately. Waited for Zealous, walked to Singpost. Met Wyntrice; rich blur girl, got sent there, and didn't know where the Mcdonalds was. Ate hotcakes and sausage, disgusted people with the amount of butter I spread. Still had plenty of time, crapped plenty.Took bus to school; teased J all the way about attracting guys.
Saw KH on the way into school, was out to buy hairspray. In school, lazed, talked a bit. Heard H's school choir again. Gossiped about how C is always sticking to T. Then rehearsal started. Did two runs. Had a nice time rushing to put on my pants during scene transition. Almost forgot to run out and stop those two fighting again. That was the first run. After my last scene, C pulled me off to look for bandage. And because of that, we had to walk around the school in the killing heat looking for the St. Johns people only to find that someone had aquired it.Second run through ran by quite smoothly. And this time ,we had to walk to the canteen to collect the burgers. 45 burgers!!! They came in two huge bags. I never thought bread could weigh so much.
Meijie then gave a few comments. Hmm, somehow I'm beginning to like Meijie. @ first, when C first told me abt her last year, I thought she was an ah lian. But now, I beginning to really like her, she's really very nice and very dedicated.
@ 11.30, it was off to Sg Poly. As the stupid people had brought the props up the bus first, people who didn't want to be squashed up had to climb all over to the back. It felt good to be catwomen however. On the way, people gave motivation speeches, we ate, and the best part was we played our 'hello game'. We waved hello to every car behind us. Most people were sporting and waved back. Some were really 'dao'. But I'm not going to concentrate on those 'dao' ones. There were some really cute ones. Especially those with small kids. There was this ang moh girl especially cute. Then there was this cool guy. He raised the peace sign. Old man, but COOL! Many others just raised hands, but some waved really enthusiastically. I hope we brightened up their day. Added some spice to it. They'll have stories to tell when they get back.
@ Sg Poly, we spent the first few hours making up and doing last minute preparations (not that there were many). Altogether, we were a calm lot. I have no recollection as to the time we went back stage. Dom. came about an hour before we went on stage. My, was it good seeing him. Our wonderful director.
Talking about Dominic, he's a raelly nice guy and a great director. Fine, he may be the rebellious boy who often gets called out by Soon. But that aside (actually thats part of his charm), he really has a way with people. He commands attention, and when he ticks you off, you don't think of damning him. He's really really good. And not to mention his sense of fashion.
We spent the last few minutes calming our nerves, feeling bored, drinking beer (a sip, KH bought for scene), feeling hot. And the really last few minutes hugging each
other and asking each other to 'break everything'. Oh, I must mention MC's nieces from Holland were with us. They are in Sg for a visit. They don't look any diff. from sg. teens.
Backstage, it didn't feel any different than any other times really. One doesn't really think about how many people are up there, or maybe butterflies actually disappear with age/experience. I'd believe that. So, we went up on stage, and gave it all we got. It felt good. My changing was accomplished smoothly and in time; assisted by MJ and C helping me unbutton and unzip my skirt. Thanks guys. Before long, it was 'GAME OVER'. And came another round of hugs and handshakes. Feelings of accomplishment and exhilaration soared. That was that, we did it! We had given our damned best! Everyone was exceptionally happy.Oh and I must mention YSF came and gave a speech before and after. We really worked hard. Especially MJ and D. They were the ppl who made this, made it happen. The Sec 4 really sacrificed alot of time, considering their oncoming O's.We strolled back to the audi. Then slipped into the back to watch the other. I sat beside C and Z.
First was Loyang. We seriously thought their play was lame. It was all talk no action. It seemed more like a lecture about the value of life(teen suicide) with a skit thrown into it. Next came Naval Base. It wasn't too bad. In fact I quite liked it. Their little girl was so cute. And their lead was really good. Only their multimedia was rather uncoordinated. And for the ringing of the phone, they needed their actress to go 'Tring tring...'. It was qutie funny and ironic. They had the sound of the doorbell and christmas carols on their computer, but not the ring tone. C and I had fun critising and comparing the plays. (Thats what gossipgirls do)Before the results, we saw clips of the simi-finals. Some were not so bad, the rest were simply lame. There was this particulary good one, I think the girl in it was the best actress. Before results were annoucned, we had to listen to some peolpe talk. There was this MP, who's speech was simply unlistenable. How can there be a MP that can't talk? How on earth did he get people to vote for him?
Best actress was this girl from CHIJ. And best actor was of course none other than CCHMS's very own Shannon Sia. He was really good. Woah, were we elated! And then, we were first runner up. (sadly). I was crossing my fingers when they announced the first runner up "no...no...we have to be the champions...". Well, unfortunately, we were 2nd. D went up for the throphy and $1000. How cool, we'd have a blast @ the end of the year. Oh well, @ least we were 2nd.Damn Loyang got 1st. I seriously don't understand why on mars they won.
Mrs Tan then appeared. We didn't realise that she had been there the whole time. She said that Loyang's script was tight. But that still doesn't weigh enough. Why on Neptune did Loyang win!!?!??Handshakes, congratulations went around. Then we went outside. It was over all too quickly. Outside, hugs went around again. Poor MJ cried. We all had a right to be disappointed. Hugs! But as MC says, we all know that we are the CHAMPIONS!!! And we are all winners.Oh and outside, H and I noticed the first person C ran to was T. Hmmm, don't you wonder whats going on?There was time to spare before the bus came, so we bought some drinks, sat @ the cool shelters, talked, and teased D abt his gf.
Then onto the bus we went. And so resumed the 'Hello game'. This time, with new members of H and ST. People were so sporting. And to repeat, those with kids were especially cute. And of course, there were the 'dao kia'. The people who stared @ us either curiously/amusingly/strangely/tiredly. Many of those stared like wondering if they knew us, why on earth were we waving to them. Those people must be lacking company or must be really slow. We went back to school with the knowledge of us having brightened up the day of those many people we waved to.Back in school, we all trooped up to the drama rm. with some thing or other in our hands to park up there. Then it was off home. And thanks to Nick. we got a ride out. His parents van was so cool. Nice pple. And so ends our adventure.
Happy National Day!!!
You know you love me...
