i think we had quite a productive op session today. got all the subtitles done for our videos. gosh, i never knew it was such a tedioius task. you have to type it in for every single frame, save them singly, and then merge them! can't those smart IT bumms use their crazy brains to write some smart programme that recognises words and automatically does subtitling?!?!
was watching some spastic Charlie and some other 2 Unicorns on Lina's blog. Super spastic! While waiting for cw (who never turned up), we had our bright idea of doing our own version of it. of course, wonght is to be charlie :D
strolled to the beach to blade for the first time in 5 years. i guess those few ice skating sessions of mine helped in me regaining the feel, though was stumbling around for the first half hour.

I can't believe it took me close to 18 years to get to read the book! I'd always wanted to read it, only it was never available in the library and was always ridiculously priced in bookstores. Finally, luck was with me today and I came across it in MPL this afternoon. Or rather it came to be. I was just walking and it just stared up at me in my face. After reading it, I understand the ridiculous price. Think I'm gonna blow my $20 kinokuniya voucher to get my own copy.
And after reading it, thinking even more seriously about teaching. haha

we finally got our interview with Mrs Chan! haha, but feel so guilty for bothering her so much (at least the appt can take a bit out of my conscious), she was quite busy that day...(ytd) gosh, her table was literally overflowing with presents...so we did the recording in the conference room. haha, funny woman, i passed her the transcript, she pushed it back, after an afterthought asked to see it. haha. she's frigging nice la, after that still told us to go back if we needed more. grrr, and she has to go be cpdd. gah.
anyway, after the interview we rotted in the canteen for about 2 hours. went up to class to move chairs, and rotted in class for another hr. shiandy went for an excursion, so had to delay our CT session by 2 hrs.
after that, went home, zzzed for an hr! it was raining, perfect weather for a snooze with 92.4 playing in the background! :D
at german, we crashed frau ostlund's singing class, and demanded herr S to let us play games (: so overall, was the most fun german lesson of the year. ;)
had to wake up early to go for some rubbish uni admission talk this morning. of all the speakers, i think only mrs chan and the smu speaker would have passed an OP. those from nus and ntu were total crap. i thought smu had the most vibrant environment, most similar to vjc. nus a bit elitist. ntu trying to get there but obviously not there.
hopefully i can get a scholarship so i can go overseas...
if i wanna teach i need a psc scholarship...if not i think i'll be stuck in a classroom for 40 years.
if i wanna do medicine i need to get a place in nus med fac. unless i really wanna risk going to a german uni.
went for lunch with eileen, eunice and their mum @ parkway jack's place. (:

I haven't had to much fun in ages!
Spent the afternoon in the airport. Supposed to have taught fishball english, but that lazy boy decided that he didn't wanna do an essay, and was smart enough not to bring any of his old ones, so we ended up talking and crapping instead!
That dd wanted to see aeroplanes properly. There was double glass in T2 cause the view gallery overlapped with the hall downstairs, so we had to go to T1 to satisfy his aeroplane desires. Only, T1 housed all the lousy airlines...so he wasn't very impressed. Was only impressed with cheesecakes and tiramisu at Coffee bean.
In the evening I managed to drag ceci to german chillin session at east coast :D
haha, we bought 2 black pepper chickens, 4 bratwursts, beer and (greentea[?!]), went to the beach, found an empty bench and sat down to eat.
Did alot of stupid crazy things that only teenagers have the liberty to do :D Must make the most of one's teens!
Played truth or dare...LOL, the bottles liked the guys alot (jk and a)! There was never a dare chosen...reason given was cause xinyi was around...and that spells danger... (;
After that jk left and us 3 walked on th vj. YAY! I climbed the school gate for the first time in my life! haha...that sounds retarded...like what on earth have I been doing for the past year?!
anyway, we explored the school by night...played the piano...tried to freak the J2s studying out...Amazing...I found out how to open T block classrooms doors...how to climb to places...etc... heehee
On the bus ride home C and I did a comparison between ACJC and VJC Mrs Chans. Ah, of course CKG emerged victorious!

So today was finally Mrs Chan's farewell assembly.
There were some performances by our award winning choir and band and a dance.
The icom video was good too. Esp her hairstyles and the teacher's imitations of her "Aiyah" and "please lah!".
Talking about teachers, they did a fanstastic job of coming up with an original song for Mrs Chan. Sending her west...

something about going so far, but she has no car...mentioned all the awards...

The tune was something like "Give Thanks", with an augmentation of the 2nd note. VJ does have quite alot of christian influence...come to think of it, many groups thank God at assembly when they win something...
haiz...she didn't have to make use of her survival kit (tissues)...
but I guess its just as well that it ended on a happy note.
Of course, with her declaring "It is my honour and pleasure to give you your final full day off."
I guess that last declaration is what will immediately pop up when we think of Mrs Chan in future...
Gave our our cranes...she said she was quite impressed that we could fold them so small... :D
Ah well...at least its not her last day...she'll still be around till the end of the year...
and our PW group will have to reinterview her for our OP...haha
Hopefully as CPDD (ciricculum planning deputy director [science]) she'll be able to head some movement that'll end up in SPA being scrapped! No doubt she'll be as dynamic and will own the whole dept there too. ;)
hmmm, did a simple search for "Mrs Chan" on blogger...turned up a huge number of results. Of course with everyone saying how wonderful she is, how much she'll be missed...yadda yadda...but some also said that she was a slack principal. I don't think so...think she probably appeard slack cause she gave us alot of freedom, but if u look closely you'll see that she's really damn hardworking.
Oh, and I read that there are also several other teachers leaving. No prizes for guessing where they’re leaving for.Yea, they’re all going west…gah…proves my point! MOE loves to deprive students of wonderful teachers and principals!
after hanging around like lost sheep for a bit (due to the unexpected full day off) 06S33 went to suntec to watch the prestige.

today was the last official day of school...next week onwards will be OP prep + MFA attachment + catching up on J1 work...

Let me tell you about my super slack day today.
The supposedly 2 period chem lec lasted for all but 20 minutes. So after that we basically had a little more than 4 periods to rot away (cause we had no PE either).
After rotting for a few minutes, some bits of blue paper miraculously appeared. Yay! Everyone happily started folding cranes. Then more bits of paper appeared, only this time they were white. But since we were so super bored, we folded them anyway. Mrs Chan was sitting at the next table...staring over...so someone suggested since the white cranes wouldn't be accepted for rice, lets fold them for mrs chan instead. Right, so there we were for the next 2 hours, folding white paper cranes and sticking them into a snapple bottle. :D
Tmr is her farewell assembly...then we'll probably never see her again...): Gah, she'd better come back for some events :p
Had a teaching sting today with tingkai...hmm...I'm seriously considering a career in teaching...hopefully become someone whom they will wanna pull to hq after many promotions... (: dream dream...maybe...who knows... (; your kid might go home one day and complain about a Ms Chong.
I think I kinda got an internship at MFA. Lied about considering a career there. I just wanna see the going ons inside...writing reports on political situations and culture doesn't really fit my palate...but it'd be a good experience I guess...and who knows, I might like it afterall...
Having a good time slacking these few days...I'll be glad for the time when I become busy again.

Its Tuesday...the "second" day of school.
I was pretty much looking forward to the "first" day yesterday. I stayed awake the whole day! But today I couldn't help but close my eyes for a bit. hee...
Got back promo results...
For the promos itself, I got BADS.
But overall its BASE. If i can squeeze out 0.5 more marks...I'll get BADS overall too!
I had to friggin get 24/50 for GP...for writing to limitedly...

Today's open house was totally fantastic!!!
I was walking about in this totally HOT labcoat with "Medical Society, Ask Me" blue tacked onto my back, (it fell off while I was doing mass dance, so in the end had to pin it there), holding packets of Victoria Jeneral Clinic pills :D
Mass dance was totally the highlight of the day! I was running over everytime I heard whiney whiney playing. I must really learn all 6 dances one day. Can't graduate not knowing my mass dances like the back of my hand.
Saw some performances. Thought choir was espeically good. (thats why they're world reknowned & famous you see)
Managed to 'kope' some free ice cream from andreas and some free apple juice at the end. There were so many goodie bags left at the end I took 2. haha
It was Victoria on show at her best!!! :D
I soooo LOVE VJC! I guess I've always knew this, but today, I suddenly thought "I'd made the right choice of school. VJC is really the BEST school around! and i'll be eternally grateful for having made it there."
Ok, after gushing about open house and how much I simply love my school, I'll take my time to lament something now.

The bestest best most fantastic fabulous wonderful principal I know is leaving. She kenna promoted.
And in her place will be some superintendant hwa chong guy. I imagine him to be old, half balding, conservertive, dull, academic minded fellow.
Ok, let me not think about what is to come and instead elaborate on why Mrs Chan is totally the best principal I've ever had.
She's super hip, fun, spontaneous, encouraging, motiavating, caring, innovative. She encompasses VJC man... For details and examples refer to Fred's blog, oct 13th post.
And I have a deep admiration for her. (for some reason I can't pinpoint [or i'm too lazy to think about it to pinpoint]) But I daresay its ever since she came to CCHMS to sell VJ. The very connectable manner etc. If I ever go into teaching, I'll be aspiring to become to principal like her.
Well, we luv ya and will definitely miss you loads Mrs Chan.
Lets see, we'll miss seeing you on stage everyday (it'd just be different), ur cheerfulness and spontaneity, and not to forget coughourhalfdayscough.
Hmm...and I never got to witness the record breaker run...

Gah! Today made me remember why I resolved NEVER to go back to gmps EVER AGAIN!
1) there are stupid fat, around security guards
2) the teacher's couldn't care less
3) they are always having some kind of a meeting or another
I guess the only comfort would be that this if like our first "major" class outing in like 2 years...(3 of us...)
Getting my German results in 2 hours...Ich habe ANGST!!! What if I don't do well? What if....what if...
Promos are over...the elation lasted only for a minute. What was it replaced with? A thousand and one other things that I have to do...that I want to do...+worrying about my results.
Apparently we'll have a new principal next year. Mrs Chan getting promoted? Gosh, I'll miss her. I'll miss all the days off...(i've a confession to make), i'll miss observing her clothes (kinda interesting to do tt...she has quite a good fashion sense...)...don't know her very well...but I think she rocks.
Talking about next year...mein Gott! I'll be J2 next year...this is damn cliche...but HOW TIME FLIES! Just a year ago, I was worrying about whether or not I'll get into VJ. In about 10 weeks, I'll be J2 in VJ. Honeymoon year has come and gone. I think I've had quite a good honeymoon and should be quite ready for the mad rush of next year. Someone knock me on the head if I'm still honeymooning next year please.

my chem is totally gone...i'm hoping against all hope to PASS!
i knew it was gonna be a killer...but i thought i was quite well prepared. mcq wasn't so bad...neither was the first few questions of the structured...the SHOCK came in the enthalpy and gp vii questions....i stared at them for 15 minutes and decided to go on to the essay questions which were relatively easy. only i don't think i'll do well cause i was rushing through them.
so theres chem...
i think theres hope for bio...
as for tomorrow's maths...i'll try my best to make the best out of it...i want to pass if not get a C...
