Everybody was expecting a half-day today.
Everybody was expecting the soccer guys or TYH to go up to tell the school that they're gonna fight it out in the soccer 3rd/4th game today and to go support them.
But none of the above happened.
Instead, the only person who could announce a half day was no where to be seen and TYH apparently said that our soccer guys didn't deserve supporters. (the match wasn't even announced!)
I actually got 2 accounts of the latter incident.
1) he didn't want the red shirts to go down cause he wanted the boys to enjoy their last match without any pressure/stress from the school.
2) he didn't feel that the boys deserved supporters because they're not in the finals.
I think both are actually believable, though I put up the 2nd cause it sounded juicier ;)
So anyway, for those who knew about the match, we made our own way down to the national stadium. (imagine that! the last soccer match thats going to be played at the national stadium!)
When our boys came on, we cheered. TYH spun around, a stunned look on his face. He surveyed the group of people that turned up, and a smile slowly spread across his face.
*beep* the whistle sounded, and the boys were off!

GO VJ GO VJ GO!
LETS GO VJ LETS GO!
VJ ALL THE WAY!
V*VJ**VJC***
VJ VJ Ceeeee
We threw out all the random spontaneous cheers we could think of, started and sustained cheers and screamed for our boys till we were hoarse. (my throat still hurts like mad!)
We cheered and we cheered and we SCORED! WOoHOO!
Because there were so little of us, and so many of SA, we couldn't overpower them. So we always waited till they were done with their cheers before we started ours. We filled in all the silent moments. SA didn't really cheer that much, so our voices were at work most of the time.
SA scored from a free kick.
And then VJ scored again! The score was 2-1!!! And 2-1 it was to remain until the final whilstle sounded.
Since TYH didn't let the red shirts lead us, these 2 J3 red shirts who came for the match led instead. The look on TYH's face when he saw them leading was another sight to behold! The girl, Charlene, was really powerful! She screamed and she screamed so loudly and 2 hours later, she could still scream and scream just as loudly! Really kudos to them!
And great job guys!
We're really proud of you! Not making the finals was simply bad luck! You're still our champions!
For the finals (RJ vs MJ), we couldn't find seats at the MJ side, so we had to sit in the RJ side.
I was all prepared to support MJ. I seriously didn't want RJ to win, not after they took our place in the finals and not after they've been winning everything.
But as the match wore on, it became pretty obvious that RJ was playing the better game.

They were organised and poised while MJ were reckless and impulsive.
MJ used their old trick. Whenever in need of extra time, get your players to start drowning in the field. i.e. collapse one by one (the more the merrier) and start rolling around on the ground.
Rj were the thinkers while Mj were the animals.
Mj simply whacked (ball and players alike) like nobody's business.
Rj on the other hand took careful aims and passed and shot their balls nicely.

(was it really such an exiciting match?)
Their skills weren't what helped them win. They defended ferociously, but there were plenty of moments when I witnessed their players going around in circles looking for the ball they'd lost. Rj won (sadly) simply because they were more refined.
The guys looked so sad during the prize presentation! Oh well, its over. Cheer up boys! We're proud of you!

you know you love me
