About a year ago, my seniors' 'A' level results were released.
VJ puts up the names of those who've achieved at least 3 As on a board outside the general office. I remember the excitement of us JC1s and 2s, eagerly crowding around the board, kaypoing about which of our seniors did well. A good number of them did.
Then, I told myself that I'd worked for my name to be displayed on the board the following year. It seemed a far and unreachable goal. But somewhere deep down, we all knew that it was within reach. We were students of VJC, and students of VJC do well for their A levels. We knew that we had it in us.
Hmm, but somehow, I couldn't help but hope that I'd done not only good enough to be on the board, but maybe a little better than that.
But yesterday came and went, and I achieved my aim.
So that's that. I've plenty to be thankful for actually.
I'm glad for my results, and I've those who helped me along the way to thank for it.
Congratulations and well done to all my friends who surpassed themselves and achieved their goals.
And to my friends who didn't do as well we you'd hope: fret not darlings, things will turn out fine. you did what you could, and something just went wrong as some things do. but when God closes a door, somewhere he opens a window. so keep smiling :)
you know you love me
