Crap. I really am quite dead. And I call myself a Chinese! Time to start reading newspapers!
The 早报 has, unlike the straites times, still retained a rather high language standard. I'm not supposed to leave that statement hanging there like that, but unfortunately, even my English standard has plummeted like nobody's business.
Okay, by the end of this week, I shall try to churn out an essay of some sorts.
Guangzhou and Penang turnarounds this week.
Then Amsterdam on Sunday!!!
Which means my dear Celine Dion concert too!!!
Been researching Amsterdam. Never knew it was such a beautiful and interesting place. I think I'll have quite a nice time :)
oh aunty, i finally know what wooden clogs you're talking about :p

Today was VJ's soccer finals against MJ.
I wanted to go down to jalan basar to watch!
but some pok had to talk and talk and talk and eat up all our afternoon; that by the time i was halfway there, the match ended, with us losing 2-1 to £$(*£"$*&£^ mj.
I'd wanted to go back and cheer with the school, to revel once again in the unabatable victorian spirit, but pok person robbed me of that chance..
The 2 years in VJ were really wonderful and the victorian spirit is really the most amazing ever. We have the best cheers, we cheer our hearts out and will even cheer our team on after being beaten.
The poor boys and tyh...losing to a fluke last year and apparently some missed shots and unawarded penalty this year...Totally sucks
But oh well, VJ still rocks! And are really the true winners!
nil sine labore :D
Speaking of labore, I graduated from cabin crew training today. The morning was a whirlwind of activities, [actually, the whole day, but more about that later] we thought we'd never get ready. I don't know if we were ever ready, but ready or not, the show had to start, so start we did. I must say we didn't do a bad job on our performance ;)
And guess what, I got best trainee and 3rd best groomed.
I honestly don't know how I got the grooming award. But a bag of lancome products, I'm not complaining ;)
As for best trainee, thank you VJC, for teaching me 'nil sine labore'.
I had been working towards it from the day we attended a graduation in our second week of training. Though after doing horribly in exams, I'd kinda lost hope on that and slacked my days away. But there was an interview yesterday which sort of rekindled it. So yes, labore and it won't be nil ;)
After another day at STC, trying to rush down to jalan basar only to find out on the way that we'd lost, i made my way to cchms for drama night. The juniors are...well...
there are some promising ones...
and anyway, we had fun laughing at them and enjoyed our time on stage too :)
thanks for the show guys :)
okie thats the lot for today
came home, dug out BTT book for test tmr evening.
champions league finals ltr.
wonderful monday:
had drama rehearsal (loads of fun)
went to ecp to cycle with ceci (even more fun)

Ah, I'm back from Shanghai and have done alot of things since!
Shanghai was nice :)
A city with alot of life! Might be kinda messy in the layout, dirty along the streets, haphazard along the roads, but still, its a city thats alive.
It's hardly changed since I was there about 6 years ago. Maybe more buildings have sprung up, but otherwise, I think the heart of Shanghai and the Shanghainese are pretty much the same.
Shopping is still good, though I'm kind of out of practice in the art of haggling, so didn't get as good deals as I'd like to have.
The bund at night is beautiful! Shanghai has nightlife! Unlike boring old SG where its so hard to find nice places to hang out after 9pm!
Had dinner at M on the Bund.
Went to
1) Glamour Bar (very nice view, interior, drinks)
2) Laris (where it was martini night, so one for one martinis the whole night)
3) some underground club (where they had some nice bourbon and apple juice concoction)
4) JZ club (I thought the band there was weird)
5) some Lounge like bar (very nice :) )
Saturday:
Practiced for graduation at the rooftop garden of suntec. Must say I'm quite happy with the progress we've made.
Graduation this Wednesday afternoon.
Spend the rest of the evening with Ceci.
Manhattan Fish Market at the Central. Al Fresco dining, with view overlooking clarke quay.
Nice food, pok service.
Sat there for ages talking and laughing at people
Walked around clarke quay.
Weird people doing some shuffle thing along the bridge. Nothing better to do with their lives.
Checked out almost all the bars on the ground floor of clarke quay. Highlanders looks like a very nice place!
Went to look at people reverse bungeeing, smiled charmingly at the operator, got free rides! We're sooo cute! Woohoo! haha
Ah I'm done with blogging about what I do.
I do have topics to blog about, but am too lazy to write something good... :p
so cheerios!

NO MAN IS AN ISLAND
No man is an island, no man stands alone
Each man's joy is joy to me
Each man's grief is my own
We need one another, so I will defend
Each man as my brother
Each man as my friend
No man is an island far out in the blue
We all look to One above
Who our strength doth renew
When I help my brother
Then I know that I plant the seeds
Of friendship that will never die
I saw the people gather
I heard the music start
The song that they were singing
Is ringing in my heart
No man is an island, no man stands alone
Each man's joy is joy to me
Each man's grief is my own
We need one another, so I will defend
Each man as my brother
Each man as my friend That, is VJ choir's anthemn.
A beautiful song.
"No man is an island, no man stands alone", very true.
"Each man's joy is joy to me, each man's grief is my own", perhaps for my friends, but to have the whole world's grief as my own? No thank you.
"Each man as my brother, each man as my friend", maybe that'd be the feeling towards initial strangers. But once you get to know a person, there are some people you'd rather not have as your brother or your friend.
This is a very ambitious set of words. Maybe someone magnanimous will be able to achieve it all. But otherwise, I declare that it only applies to groups of people. I.e.: friends, clubs, organisations etc.
I must say I'm very happy with the seeds I've planted :D

Okay, i promised a post before my first flight, so shall make good on my word.
I was walking in parkway yesterday afternoon. The place was streaming with students in their school uniform, milling around everywhere; talking about their exams, how they didn't study, how glad they are that they passed, how its alright to just pass becaose 30% of the cohort failed...to see cchms girls with their shirts out and hair in a mess...vj students walking around with their head held high and having loads of fun...
School days were fun!
Okay, I don't have time. Should be off to prepare before I miss my first flight to perth!
miss me!
but don't miss me too much!
you know you love me!

Do You Go For A Guy's Brains or Body?
You Are Picky When it Counts |
Like most sane women, you want a great guy who will treat you well.

You are Almost Ready to Date Again |
You're over him... well, mostly.
Truth be told, you still think of your ex on occasion.

Are You Ready for a New Boyfriend?
You Are A Professional Girlfriend! |
You are the perfect girlfriend - big surprise!
Heaven knows you've had enough practice. That's why you're a total pro.
If there was an Emily Post of girlfriends, it would be you.
You know how to act in every situation ... to make both you and your guy happy. |
What Kind of Girlfriend Are You?
You Would Do a Little For Love |
Yes, love is important to you. But you also want to be loved for who you are.
So you won't be doing a lot of changing or sacrificing for love.

You're super sensitive and easily able to understand situations.

Decision making is easy for you. You have killer intuition.
The right path is always clear, and you're a bit of a visionary. |
You Are Somewhat Honest |
You do tend to tell the truth a lot
But you also stretch the truth on occasion
You figure a little lie isn't a big deal
As long as it doesn't hurt anyone too much! |
You Are A Good Friend |
You're always willing to listen
Or lend a shoulder to cry on
You're there through thick and thin
Many people consider you their "best friend"! |
What Kind of Friend Are You?
You Would Not Pick Your Boyfriend Again! |
When you and your boyfriend first met, things were different.
And now that the initial chemistry has worn off, you're finding that he's not right for you.
As much as it hurts, you know that you need to let him go - and find someone worthy of your love.
The good news is, you can be happier. You just have to make it happen. |
Would You Pick Him Again?
Not a Player, But You Dabble In the Game. |
Sometimes a girl just wants to have fun- and when it's fun you're after, you get it.
But when you want a relationship, you seem to score that as well.
What you want changes from day to day and from guy to guy.
Luckily, you've got the skills to get whatever you want - and pass the leftovers on to your friends. |
When It Comes to Men, Are You a Player?
