It's been another two weeks, and i've been to india and back.
It was quite an experience. Though actually, I suppose India is all one expects it to be. Messy, hot, dirty, smelly...
The view of India from the top was breath-taking though. Brings to mind pictures of tea plantations, beautiful indian countryside, women in saris carrying jars of water on their heads etc. But on land, in the city, was another story. There were slum settlements right next to the runway, stepping out of the air-conditioned terminal building the outside air was dusty, people were everywhere, vehicles in the parking lots were small and cranky, those on the roads had enormous bags sitting and swaying precariously on the roofs of the vehicles...
The hotel (the intercontinental) was like some kind of fort, with guards in the front inspecting every single vehicle and high walls surrounding the whole place. Though I suppose this is neccessary considering that violence is prone to erupting in that place.
The hotel though, was grand and spacious with great cable tv.
I went for a swim in the afternoon and planned to stay a little longer with my book, but alas...the stench from the river was too overwhelming. You do not want to imagine what it was like.
Went clubbing at this supposedly exclusive club at the Marriot at night. Left before hollywood music started. Haha. But it was about the same...only the bartenders were more entertaining. They do the stunts that bartenders are supposed to do.
But boy, the traffic! It was madness! There was 5 cars abreast on a road with 3 lanes, vehicles cut into any space they can find and there was no end to the honking...
Incredible India indeed...
Ah, and in Perth, I met up with my primary school friend (whom I haven't seen for 6 years) and her friend. We had a fantastic shopping spree and sat down for gelare afterwards. It was a Tuesday, so half priced waffles added to our joy! Haha. Weather was kinda nice, though it's getting quite hot down under...
Back to things in Singapore, my driving sucks...I need some potion or spell to make me pass the test!
Skating keeps me sane.
Things to remember for waltz jump:
keep knee bent
bring arms back for swing
swing arms and leg forward
focus on going up
look up
Going to Zurich this weekend! Whee! Miss Europe!!! :)
