It's been another week, and I'm back from Amsterdam.
Don't think I did much this week other than go to Amsterdam. Haha, let me flip through my planner to check.
Yup, other than lunch on Monday with Cheng Wei and Han Teng to pass them their birthday presents (how convenient to have friends' birthdays a day apart, haha), I spent the week in Amsterdam.
In Amsterdam, visiting Anne Frank House was quite impactful. It was quite something to walk through the house where this girl who recorded her strong thoughts of her experiences lived. Reading transcript of her diary and walking through the very place she was describing made it seem all the more real. Seeing and being in where she lived, how she lived, the very spot where things happened...One somehow feels the darkness of those days. Watching interviews of survivors who came into contact with them, especially in the atmosphere of the house itself, was like stepping into their shoes for a very brief moment. One can just imagine the anxiety, fear and longing for freedom those people felt. Highly recommended if any of you ever visits amsterdam.
Another highlight of this trip would be my visit to the recreated dutch village of Zaanse Schans. The tranquility of the place beats any resort anywhere I think. If you're ever thinking of a getaway, go to the country side instead of male or something. :)
I shall attempt to blog more often. Lol
Jia you to all my dear friends tackling projects, exams and heavy loads of school work.
You can do it and the holidays will be here soon! :)
