I was watching Michelle Kwan's commentary of today's figure skating; how Japan and Korea are dominating the world stage now instead of the USA. And my immediate thought was, well it's due to the asian mentality. When America was dominant, she, Michelle Kwan was their top skater. Though an American, she was still Chinese, brought up with asian values. Since she stopped skating in 2006, it's been Japan's Mao Asada and Korea's Kim Yu Na who's been giving the figure skating world something to watch. As for promising young americans, my money's on Caroline Zhang. See that? Zhang, another asian. There's something to be said about asian values that drives one to work towards success. That being said, one wonders where the Chinese are in this sport...Nothing has been heard of them since Chen Lu back in the early 1990s...
