Okay, now I shall actually get down to the flowy prose that I had in my head a week ago.
After my crew rest on my flight back to Singapore from Milan, I saw the first glimmer of sunrise as I walked past the window. It was a warm tinge of orange peeping out of the edge of the still dark horizon. Throughout breakfast, the sun slowly worked its way out, producing beautiful displays of changing colours across the morning sky. That was to be my last sunrise from the air for a long time to come. It was a nostalgic moment. While there were plenty of things I'll miss about flying, that beautiful sunrise seemed to be the first sign that a promising future lay ahead.
As I sat on my crew seat, awaiting our arrival into Singapore, small little white puffs of clouds filled the sky, billowing out from both sides of the plane, like a soft cushiony field of cloud. As the plane breezed through the lovely layer of soft cloud, I got my first view of Singapore Changi Airport, lit up by the bright rays of the morning sun. And as the plane landed and taxied to the gate, we drove past row upon unending row of SQ planes, all majestically lined up, proudly displaying "Singapore Airlines" on their sides and reflecting the sun off their tails adorned with the SIA logo. It was really a sight to behold and add to my feelings for my next step in life. A grand sendoff and wish of goodwill for whatever that was to come.
[as corny as all these sound]
And as I look at planes take off or land, I think of the cabin crew inside, working hard to meet and exceed the passengers' expectations, keeping our national carrier at the top of the market, and am proud to have served with and been a part of it all :)
It was been a wonderful year and a half, and I look forward to the next wonderful 4 years of my life in SMU law.
