Conflict management.
Best strategy is collaboration.
other methods:
evade, compromise, give in, force your way through
i think there was something about power too...but can't remember what...

I NEED A KICK IN THE BUTT!
After experiencing my first paper, I know what needs to be done to prepare for finals. But with the impossibility of it before me, I can't even get started!
HELP!!!

I attended a talk by our law minister today.
It was very insightful, especially as to how to handle your evidence and witnesses.
How to approach what resources and information you have, to tackle it from different angles to achieve your goal.
How to cross-examine your witnesses in different ways to achieve your desired result.
How every piece of information, no matter how obscure or remote, could be instrumental in winning your case.
There was also a bonus of hearing Mr Shanmugam defend our ISA. I cannot cease to be impressed at how some people can seemingly take a question and answer it so completely and eloquently. (another weakness to add to my list) He phrased his reply in a very informative and effective manner, touching on a variety of points, and stringing them all together seamlessly.
That topic also relit my interest in the foreign service, to defend our country's interest to the ignorant world that loves to jump to conclusions.

LTB takeaways:
Everybody is powerful in different ways.
different types of power:
-expert power
-reward power
-legitimate power
-referent power
-coercive power
Lessons from Apollo 13:
stay calm in emergencies eugene kranz
keep an optimistic outlook
don't dwell on the past, focus on the present
focus on what resources are available
think out of the box
Saw Julie & Julia today. The most hilarious show, very cleverly made. And naturally, fantabulous acting from Meryl Streep. How that woman does it is beyond me. Adore her.
Contract mid term paper is over.
All the written reports coming up.
Chiong for finals after that. I have serious doubts as to how I'm ever going to be prepared for the exams.
Wish I could spend more time at dance and with my friends whom I never see anymore.

Hi all! I'm back!
First of all, apologies to my classmates presenting right now.
So it's been half a month. I haven't had any LTB lessons since then, but my take-away from the module is that you need to get people you work with to 'feel' for the project if you want things to run properly. Or else you'll have to keep bugging them. grrr.
These past 2 weeks have been spent in endless meetings, rushing presentations, and trying to study for my contract midterm.
I say trying to study because it's somehow really hard to concentrate. I have discovered the allure of jewels in bejeweled blitz. It's evil! Friggin adictive and distracting. The application administrator should b sued! grr.
I had a most productive study session at the void deck yesterday night for a good 2hours. Perhaps I should have gone back to where I studied for my Os and As much earlier. But a disadvantage is that the chairs are super uncomfortable and my back will die after a while.
Fun:
VJ open house, supper, tennis!
For the first time in my life, I skipped a mass dance! :(
But after doing it once, and being totally tired out after that, I must admit that I'm growing old, albeit reluctantly. But main reason was that no one wanted to dance with me. lol
I haven't seen my favourite friends for the longest time. Or feels like it anyway. And even then, we haven't been doing anything fun :(
Just random rants. No action plan. No time. Welcome invitations though. Haha.
Study hard everyone!
Lots of other deadlines coming up!
