While waiting for my fish and chips yesterday, I went across to the library. (I miss the library. I used to go there almost everyday and devour 4 books a day) I decided that 'today, I will find a book I think I'll like and sit down and finish it like I used to!'
I found 'Molly Fox's Birthday' by Deirdre Madden. The chapterless style and perfectly crafted writing drew me in. I realised when trying to write something, that the narrator's name (supposedly a renowned playwright) was never revealed. Her narrative brought me through her day of memories and reflection. While it revealed her realisations and discoveries about her best friend Molly Fox (an actress) and her oldest friend Andrew Forde (some arty farty genius), it unwittingly revealed things about herself too.
(grrr my writing sucks now!)

This article/review seems to encompass most of what I think.
An evening well spent after a nice afternoon out in lovely weather with ceci :)
"It's funny how you cross paths with so many people in life, some you'll never meet again but leave you with important lessons" -Yap Zhi Xin
Throughout our conversation:
some ppl's lives are parallel so they'll never ever meet
some just cross once, and never meet again
some u cross all the time but you never know who they are, like ppl u see at the bus stop all; the time but don't know them
and when you think about the people you've seem to know forever, one day you might just realise you don't know them at all
life is such a funny thing
how the past informs the present the new things one finds out about people you thought you knew inside out the things you find out about yourself with these new discoveries
Now time to finish up finance!

“One person quietly picked up scattered goods at a supermarket, lined up and paid for her groceries. Another old lady gave up her seat to a pregnant woman. A foreigner who watched this was speechless. Wow, Japan.”
“I was tired waiting at the station, when some homeless people gave me a cardboard box to sit on to keep warm. This after we pretend they don’t even exist. It’s warm.”
“My 2 year old son put on his shoes and just about wandered outside. ‘I’m going to arrest the earthquake!’, he says."
“On my 4 hour walk home, there was a woman with a sketchbook note written ‘please feel free to use the washroom!’ — she was opening her washroom to the public."

It feels soooo good to be home. Almost like coming home after a 12 day flight!
Seeing Singapore from above, and coming back from Jakarta, I'm so glad to belong to a country of good planning and order AND EFFICIENCY.
Seeing the SQ planes lined up on the tarmac...it was rather like my last flight back from Milan, the sense of homeliness. Only now, it's with an urge to work too!
Walking along the airport, pulling a cabin bag with a mamasan bag on it; going into the cabin, seeing the airlarders; listening to the crew work in the galley; and just instinctively reaching to arrange the bags in the overhead compartments and closing them when they're full; restraining myself from telling people to stow their bags properly under the seat (tiger is super lax) etc...
now to work!
I CAN DO IT!!!
