Excerpt from: Prof Winston Koh's speech made in 2010 for School of Social Science
So, what parting advice can I offer you as you embark on your careers?Firstly, find a mentor to guide and advise you.You will benefit from their counsel, and avoid some pitfalls at work.Secondly, don’t lose that sense of adventure in life.Learn something new every year: take a life-saving course (which I had), run a marathon, learn to cook, learn to dance. Finally, give back to society. As the saying goes, to whom much is given, much is expected. All of you represent the very best of your cohort. I hope that you will, in your own ways, contribute back to society as you become successful in life.
Excerpt from his facebook:
I am reminded of three things: life is so ephemeral; make each day count; don't wait to pursue your dreams.

Some new information I've learnt reminds me why I decided that I will need to know people a long time before I will give them anything more than what is due of an aquaintance.
Appearances are indeed deceiving. You never know what goes on one's head behind those seemingly innocent eyes and shy demeanour.
